SUMMARY The Manufacturing and Engineering (M&E) Category Leader is responsible for leading a team of category managers to establish a long-term, 3-year category plan to drive value across the enterprise for all Manufacturing and Engineering related categories totaling $450M in spend. This strategy development work is done in partnership with the various business unit stakeholders across the enterprise. Category strategy process includes spend analytics/mapping, external market analysis, vendor management, and establishing/ managing a multi-year project portfolio.
The M&E Category Leader will also manage sourcing projects based on the category strategy and on-demand projects from the respective stakeholders. Sourcing projects will follow a defined sourcing process and require strong project management and sourcing expertise. These activities include stakeholder communication, spend analytics, project charter development, sourcing strategy development & execution (RFX, focused negotiation, demand management, etc.) contracting, and operationalization of the contract with the stakeholder.
The M&E Category Leader will be responsible for $450M+ in enterprise wide spend and will be held accountable for delivering $2 – $5M in savings against the spend year on year. This position will focus on both M&E Goods and M&E Service related categories. Manufacturing & Engineering (M&E) Goods Details M&E Goods includes Capital, Non-Capital, Maintenance and MRO purchased parts and equipment. Globally this category represents approximately $200 – 300M in spend depending on capital budgets. The Category Leader will be responsible for working closely with the Capital Engineering teams across the enterprise to develop commercial strategies aligned to the capital plan and develop appropriate vendor relationships, contracts, and strategies to support the plan across the various business units. The role will also be responsible for establishing the sourcing strategy for all site level project, maintenance, and MRO procurement needs.
Manufacturing & Engineering Services Details M&E Services includes the procurement of all Engineering and Trade services across the enterprise spend ($150M
$250M). This category will also support facilities management services, fleet services including fork trucks. This role will require the leader to engage with Capital Engineering, Site Engineering, and Maintenance Teams to develop the sourcing strategy for all services spend including lump sum, fixed price, unit price, T&M and other sourcing models to maximize value for the enterprise.RESPONSIBILITIES Development of category plan and portfolioBuild strong stakeholder relationships to prioritize and deliver on portfolio projectsManage vendor relationships to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost, and supply commitmentsMapping and quantification of spend for assigned categoriesLead sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and contract developmentImplementation of sourcing projects and operationalization of contracts to realize savingsWork with buyer and enterprise services teams to manage compliance, pricing, and realized savings for assigned categories REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or category related disciplineStrong experience in analytics, stakeholder engagement, presentation skills, and leading teamsMinimum 2-3 years experience working in business or functional unit supported by the category5-10 years experience in a commercial/procurement roleCombination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
