Monsanto Global Supply Chain Procurement is looking for a Category Manager – Logistics to lead the strategic sourcing activities for Logistics ??? in Freight Forwarding, Ocean Freight, Custom Brokerage, and Small Parcel for all Monsanto???s Global locations. This includes sourcing services needed to ensure continuing operating performance, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while improving product quality and service levels.  The Category Manager works closely with key stakeholders in the regional Hubs to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Category Manager???s primary responsibility is to utilize strategic sourcing best practices extrapolating real savings while making effective supply base decisions. This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company-wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial total cost of ownership levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers. This position is located in St. Louis, MO and will report directly to the N.A. Procurement Logistics Category Lead.  Key Responsibilities:Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.Team in business. Responsible and accountable to business stakeholders to deliver supplier sourcing strategies to support business priorities. Explore current and new supplier options.Develop and implement strategies that optimize total cost of ownership year-over-year for assigned spend categories that achieve stated goals and targets.Financial and business analysis of supply basis and support the establishment of the forecast for the budget cycles.Develop and implement regional Category sourcing strategies and interacts with regional teams of professional buyers to ensure implementation and execution of project ideas.Ensure with business unit leadership to monitor compliance as key mind set and work with business unit leadership to monitor and ensure contract compliance and ensure FCPA. (This includes ensuring local and federal laws) as well as insuring procurement policies and processes.Support Monsanto's Corporate Responsibility efforts in Supplier Diversity, Sustainability and Safety Manage supplier development/relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company.Recognized leader in Logistics Procurement that mentors other growing Procurement professionals.Work closely with regions, logistics, and trade compliance to ensure alignment on key processes and strategy and to drive regional roadmap & facilitate supportParticipate in cross functional teams (Customer Care, Logistics, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, etc)Support Global Logistics initiativesQualifications:Qualifications:Bachelor???s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field required; MBA preferred5+ years of experience in Logistics Procurement for customs brokerage, drayage, ocean, and/or air freight forwarding1-3 years in global trade management preferredStrong knowledge of logistics/supply chain operations in diverse operations or business spanning across multiple geographiesStrong understanding of supply chain network design, global trends in supply chain & digital technologyKnowledge of logistics KPI???s and metricsWorking knowledge of common supply chain systems such as SAP, Ariba, and JDA/TMSNegotiation and Contract Management SkillsAble to work in a dual reporting matrix environment and aggressively take the lead on implementation of savings opportunities that affect numerous lines of businessProven ability to influence at multiple levels in the organizationProven ability to build, manage, and foster a team-oriented environmentProven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem solving environmentExcellent leadership and management skillsAbility to identify root causes to issues and proactively resolving problems, leveraging cross-functional business partnershipsAbility to communicate persuasively with strong interpersonal skills
