We are seeking a chartering manager to join our team in Teaneck, New Jersey.
In this position you will be responsible for managing the internal customer within the Americas, servicing their daily chartering needs and helping them profitably grow their CnF footprint.?
This includes following up on execution to ensure timely and accurate performance. You will be responsible for spot/medium term market analysis and sharing market reports with team members.?Principal Accountabilities5% Complies and champions business execution processes, including vessel vetting policy.?50% Working closely with and collaborating with the internal product lines in Miami and Mexico on the day to day in order to charter their daily needs in the Americas.
15% Managing the internal freight book on both physical and derivatives; position them correctly in accordance with the market view aligning yourself with Ocean Transportation traders in a bold and timely way; offering positioning advice; creating freight opportunities for them, managing their freight position on spot/short term basis and providing optimal logistic solutions.
10% Understand the trade flows of our internal product lines and their customers in order to help build a profitable cost and freight footprint model.
10% Champion regional Supply and Demand S&D with the regional trader and gathering market insights from the brokers in order to build your own market view and contribute to the global handy/supramax desk trading game plan.
5% Build/maintain strong personal relationships with the internal stakeholders of your customers, operations, OT traders
5% Work in close collaboration with all Ocean Transportation departments (Middle office, Vessel Operations, Admin Operations, Accounting, Risk, Credit, ?)
