SUPERVISOR FORFERTILIZER & PESTICIDEAPPLICATIONSummarySupervises the application of fertilizer and pesticides to planted orchards for growth stimulation and enhancement and the control of pests and diseases at the Company’s farming operation in Arvin California. Compensation will be based on experience and skills. Position comes with an attractive health and retirement package.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervise application & mixing crewsEnsure correct mixes for pesticide &fertilization for crop applicationMaintains or ensures accurate log on applicated acres.Ensures proper Personal Protective Equipment is used and maintained after use.Understanding of Worker Protection Standard & OSHA regulations regarding chemical application and equipment.Ensures all required Safety Training is provided to application & mixing crews.QualificationsValid Driver LicenseQualified Private Applicator CertificateBilingual in English & SpanishPrior experience with chemical applications preferredProficient Math & Computer SkillsCalibration of spray equipment & implements such as spray nozzles and tractors.Knowledge & Experience of pesticide & fertilizer application.Knowledge & Experience of operating tractors and or other farming equipment as may be assigned.Knowledge of routine tractor & spray implements maintenance procedures.Mechanically inclinedGood Communication skills.Prior experience in a supervisorial position preferred.Working EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this position an employee is exposed to the outdoor conditions of extreme cold and heat, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
