XRD (1901303) ?Iselin, NJWhere the Chemistry HappensLocated inIselin, New Jersey, the Analytics and Materials Characterization group isdedicated to analytical problem solving through a variety of characterizationtechniques, including microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, elementalanalysis and physical testing. We specialize in the analysis of catalysts,energy materials and zeolites/molecular sieves. The laboratory is high volumeand fast paced environment, supporting the research of BASF scientistsglobally. In this role, you will support the research of BASF scientists involvedin heterogeneous catalysis R&D using x-ray diffraction. Formula for Success Leveraging your education in chemistry and your analytical chemistry experience, you will use x-ray techniques like x-ray diffraction, pair distribution functions, or small angle x-ray scattering to generate critical information such as phase concentration, lattice parameters, crystallite size, strain, and defect structure which help guide BASF scientists in their discovery efforts. Prior synchrotron experience would be preferred especially with a focus on non-ambient or operando data collection.Successfully engaging across the organization, you will lead and complete analytical requests in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, requiring effective interaction with multiple research groups involved primarily in heterogeneous catalysis research. Maintaining technical accountability for interpreting, organizing, documenting, executing, and coordinating assignments, you will develop and communicate detailed project plans and project proposals and communicate and present project results.Your unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety will be essential as you address EHS requirements at BASF and other manufacturing sites with the goal of meeting standards for Zero Incident and Zero Loss of Containment Mindsets.
