Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
CHS Cooperative Resources is partnering with Centerra Co-op out of Ashland, Ohio to hire a Chief Financial Officer due to an upcoming retirement. Position Summary: The purpose of the CFO is to partner with the management team to increase profitability and the long-term ability of the Co-op to service customers. The CFO must rely upon strong business and financial management experience in grain and agronomy, and knowledge of ERP and linked software programs to succeed in this position. Company Summary:With over 300 employees, Centerra Co-op is a diverse agricultural cooperative offering products and services in Grain, Agronomy, Energy and Retail. The organization is experiencing healthy growth and has 34 locations across northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Essential Functions: Overseeing the production, timeliness and integrity of corporate financial information including forecasting, budgeting, preparation for the internal audit and management of financial systems.Strategic management ensuring that resources are in place to develop and grow the company. This includes participating in the evaluation of proposed projects, challenging financial assumptions and organizing capital support.Understanding, proposing improvements and supporting the ERP and multiple ancillary software packages necessary to support a diverse business group in a rapidly changing market place.Hiring, training and personal development of direct reports and accounting employees to support the primary and essential functions.Support business unit leaders efforts to grow volume in a way that supports the long-term profitability of the business unit.Establish and monitor key performance metrics for each business unit, and the overall company.Assure compliance with GAAP and financial regulations.Forecast cash flows and determine long-term capital structure, including long-term debt and leasing decisions.Additional roles and responsibilities. Qualifications:Well experienced in handling financial analysis of multiple locations and divisions.A minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience in financial accounting focusing in agricultural industry segments, controller, CFO and CPA backgrounds are helpful.Strong experience in accounting software with ability to train others if needed.Good understanding of the cooperative business model including patronage and serving patron-owners.
