To develop commercial products in food, beverage and pet food using colors from WFSICreate new color blends to support customer needs
Run color analytical data for existing and new colorsSource new colors as needed Job Responsibilities:
Have a basic understanding of natural and artificial colors and be able to apply that knowledge to the food, beverage and pet food industryDirects and trains lab technicians in execution of work.
May also train additional ScientistsFollows basic GMP, ISO Procedures, GLP, Safety, Lab Notebooks and/or other electronic record keeping toolsDevelopment of cost effective, stable colors.
Completes relevant stability testing, costing, documentation and commercialization.
Will have direct customer interactionTrouble-shoots any issues regarding formulations/manufacturing procedures, etc.
Makes recommendations and implements them based on trouble-shooting researchReduce formula costs on existing products, completing necessary stability and commercialization effortsEvaluates and recommends new sources of raw materials and laboratory toolsUpdates and maintains related documentation pertaining to products, processes and customers.May accompany account executives on sales calls as technical supportProvides information for demo sheets/C of A?s and proof-reads finished demo sheets/C of A?s prior to shipping with samples/finished products for accuracyCoordination of sample shipments with shipping department in accordance to customer/salesperson guidelinesCompletes work on time and accuratelyDemonstrates knowledge of and continues to acquire color and color interaction knowledgePerforms multiple tasks daily, with the flexibility of re-arranging daily workload to accommodate higher priority needsMust remain aware of industry trendsPerforms other related duties and assignments as required such as the maintenance of ISO Work InstructionsDevelop prototypes using color that meets customer needs in food, beverage and pet foodDevelop color blends that meet customer needsComplete Analytical test on colorsSupport manufacturing of colors in production settingWork with purchasing to source new colorsAttend customer calls / presentations as needed Job Requirements:
BS, or higher, degree in Food Science or related field; with 5 – 10 years? experience preferably in color but industry related a mustVerbal, writing skills and appropriate customer interaction skillsDetail-orientedAnalytical, problem solving and experimental design skillsComputer skills; Word, Excel and PowerPointTime management skillsApply for this job.
