Position PurposeAs a member of the Global Agricultural Market Analysis (GTA) team, this position will work closely with the Cargill?s Protein Group supporting analytics efforts for beef, pork, and poultry to forecast and communicate pricing, production and demand. Developing a deep understand of and forecasting import and exports of protein products will be an important contribution from this position. This position will need to establish contacts / relationships in the various stages of meat production and consumption, both domestically and internationally, to develop new concepts and techniques to further advance our understanding of meat pricing dynamics. This position requires knowledge of animal protein markets, strong analytical / statistical / modeling capacity, strong vision to drive results, and a very high level of creativity. This position will be the knowledge center for Cargill in regards to protein demand drivers.Principal Accountabilities 60% Provide cattle/beef economic analysis, develop and maintain proprietary supply and demand models (including databases), and make market recommendations.20% Provide strategic long term analysis and forecasts.10% Provide support for Pricing, Sales, and Marketing team (i.e. presentations)10% Special Projects and any other duties as assignedThis position is posted internally as well as externallySkills:
Required QualificationsMinimum Bachelors Degree
Excellent Analytical Skills; strong intuitive capability and naturally inquisitive mind.
Coursework or work experience in using statistical analysis and econometrics. Strong Excel spreadsheet capabilities.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentations, written) to internal and external customers.?
Independent thinker who is willing to defend ideas/methodology in face of resistance.
Able to prioritize work under stress
Able to work both within team and individually.
