CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Ag Business Division. We are looking for a Commodity Trader to work extensively with producers procuring grain. You must be able to work with a diverse group of people and build effective long-lasting relationships. You must be able to make decisions, work independently, and be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.You will:Work with customers. Update them on market trends, current grain quotes, grain programs and purchasing grain.Form and execute strategies for positioning, buying and selling grain.Develop and manage a budget and be accountable for a profit center.Perform market analysis and formulation of corresponding commodity position strategy.Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers.
Remain current and knowledgeable of NGFA (National Grain Feed Association) contract terms.Work closely with Grain Marketing personnel (i.e., Commodity Traders, grain accounting and the hedge desk) in exchange of information.
Resolve issues and disputes with accounting, transportation, shippers and buyers.Monitor the macro-trends of financial markets and the global economy that can impact the respective commodity prices in the short, medium and long term.Identify and develop customer base and create opportunities to increase market share for procuring grain from farmer / producer accounts.Report, type and enter all purchasing contracts quickly and accurately.Manage, lead and develop other Commodity Traders.Guarantee the reliability of the information obtained from external sources and exceed the pre-established parameters for commercialization set by the company, aiming for the maximization of profits in the operations.Know and have a solid understanding of current and possible future policies, practices, trends and information affecting CHS? grain marketing operation.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Agriculture Business, Ag Economics, or related5 plus years of experience merchandising a grain positionMust be able to read a long/shortWorking knowledge of NGFA contractsPreferred Qualifications: (desired)Series III license
