Developing strategies for utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning in protein design ??? Providing protein variants with improved target properties for project teams ??? Increasing the understanding of protein design/structure/function relationships on project teams ??? ultimately leading to the increased efficiency of our protein engineering program ??? Collaborating extensively across projects and geographical locations and providing recommendations on protein structure/function considerations ??? Partnering with technical domain experts and cross functional partners to implement novel protein engineering strategies ??? Presenting findings to key stakeholders and leadership teams ??? Driving, scoping, developing, and adopting IT and analytic tools to enable data driven business decisions ??? Accountability for cross-functional work in multiple platforms Qualifications:Required Education & Skills/Experience: ??? Minimum of a Master???s degree in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or a related discipline with five or more years of experience (from industry or academia) -OR- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or a related discipline ??? Track-record of creatively defining key results and driving technical business solutions both independently and through cross-functional project teams ??? Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise, and actionable manner ??? Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise and actionable manner to diverse teams at all levels of the organization ??? Experience building consensus and leading teams through influence while working with strict deadlines in a highly demanding and agile environment ??? Ability to plan and risk-adjust to meet timelines and deliver results ??? Demonstrated creativity in identifying new technology to meet challenging business needs and independently executing exploratory projects and implementing solutions ??? Ability to develop strong partnerships with other teams to ensure broad utility and impact of results ??? Ability to develop a broad knowledge of global internal and external advances and plans pertaining to new methodologies and tools ??? Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based and cross-functional environment Desired Skills/Experience: ??? Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or a related discipline ??? Experience in protein engineering ??? Working knowledge of the experimental and computational aspects of protein structure/function and engineering ??? Ability to script and program in a modern programming language ??? Strong knowledge of algorithms used for computational design/analysis of proteins ??? One or more years of Postdoctoral experience or equivalent industry experience ??? Prior cross-functional project leadership experience ??? Experience with large, complex datasets ??? Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms ??? Knowledge of wet lab techniques in protein biochemistry ??? Two or more publications in leading scientific journals ??? Working knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods ??? Experience with R and/or Python programming languages ??? Familiarity with Cloud computing platforms and version control: GitHub and/or AWS ??? Prior experience planning and driving optimization projects from concept to completion ??? Experience presenting results to varied audiences & influencing project direction/strategy Who is Monsanto?
