Responsibilities include: Providing protein variants with improved target properties for project teamsIncreasing the understanding of protein design/structure/function relationships on project teams ??? ultimately leading to the increased efficiency of our protein engineering program. Developing strategies for utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning in protein design Dates for this internship are May 13-August 2 of 2019Qualifications:Required:Minimum of a B.S. in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or related field and three or more years in a Ph.D. programWorking knowledge of the experimental and computational aspects of protein structure/function and engineeringAbility to script and program in a modern programming language Strong knowledge of algorithms used for computational design/analysis of proteinsExceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise, and actionable mannerDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise and actionable manner to diverse teams at all levels of the organization Preferred:Experience with large, complex datasetsWorking knowledge of machine learning algorithmsKnowledge of wet lab techniques in protein biochemistryWorking knowledge of experimental design and statistical methodsExperience with R and Python programming languagesApply for this job.
