Construction Materials Sample Technician

Where the Chemistry Happens? Construction Materials Sample Technician ? Shakopee, MN ? (1805512) As a member of the Technical Service team, you will act as a direct resource in support of our applied samples, prototype samples for customers, and tradeshow programs by creating necessary product samples for our customers. You will play a primary role in maintaining applied sample inventory to support sales growth Efficiently create high quality applied samples and prototype samples that properly represent our products and product lines to the customer. Produce in a quantity that supports the sales efforts. This requires the use of table saws, belt sanders, trowels, floats and other power or hand tools. Some of the duties and responsibilities are: Work directly with R&D, National Color Lab, Marketing, and Sales teams to conceptualize industry leading applied samples.Interface with R&D, Marketing, and Sales to fulfill all special sample requests and work orders meeting the defined tight deadlines.Work with 3rd party warehouse to ensure adequate inventory levels of applied samples, assuring availability upon demand.Produce large scale applied samples in support of our tradeshow program.Support the National Color Lab by accurately pre-weighing tint bases in gallon containers. Ensure inventory in the Color Lab is maintained as directed.Attend to special projects as assigned by the Tech Service Manager or Color/Sample Lab Team Leader.Ensure inventory of consumables is adequate to support the production of applied samples. Order supplies through SAP or through local stores.Serve as backup in mailroom/loading dock area.Responsible for following all safety procedures.Must constantly maintain clean work environment.Maintain good attendance record and report to assigned job station in a timely manner.Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.Follow all appropriate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.Standing, sitting, lifting and carrying for an extended period of time necessary. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of BASF?s Vision and Guiding Principles. Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.Assure standards of safety, environmental, team and individual performance are met in a high-performance team-based organization.
