Continuous Improvement Manager – Poultry
SUMMARY:This position will lead the facility in the development and implementation of a long term strategic plan to involve every plant employee in the pursuit of a lean manufacturing environment that lowers production costs. Other responsibilities or this role would be: Implement the facility's corporate standard CI strategy to deliver significant productivity savings that lower the total plant cost of production. Develop and implement the facility's plan to engage every employee, salaried and hourly, in the CI process. Use fact-based analysis to prioritize improvement opportunities. Help establish and manage CI metrics for each department within the facility, and monitor/manage performance against these metrics. Identify and/or provide training on lean manufacturing techniques as needed. Facilitate hourly team CI events as needed. Serve as the facility's liaison with the corporate CI team.REQUIREMENTS:Education: BS Degree in Engineering orequivalent work experience preferred; MBA preferred but not required.Experience: 5+ years' experience in Operations, Sales, Marketing, or Shared Services; experience in Change Management or Relationship Management preferred.Technical Skills: Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Project Manager, Excel and Word.Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work and influence all levels of the organization.Travel: 25%Position Specific:Strong knowledge of practical lean manufacturing principles. Ability to teach and coach employees at all levels in the use of lean tools, presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner. Excellent project management skills.
