Continuous Improvement Specialist

Position Purpose -The Continuous Improvement (CI) specialist position is primarily responsible for supporting the CI lead role with leading CI activities at the Fort Dodge, IA facility. This position conducts activities related to: ? Portfolio leadership, governance and control for CI initiatives ? Key project execution, value realization and measurement ? Coaching team members on site to increase CI capability and develop an ingrained CI culture ? Business partnership, and stakeholder management. The CI specialist supports the Fort Dodge Leadership Team, charged with overall site strategy and execution on established deliverables. The CI specialist is accountable to assist the CI lead to identify and deliver maximum value to the business through a metrics management approach, while using leadership and coaching skills to expand the CI process competencies across the site. This position uses comprehensive knowledge to coach the team in developing and managing CI project plans for projects, and assures project goals and objectives are attained and sustained. Identifies and documents variances from project goals and objectives, and communicates status reports, issue logs and risk areas to leadership across the location. Lastly, this position is expected to be a resource across CSSTNA, to teach CI principles, mentor CI candidates and collaborate with other site CI leads as needed to support overall CI priorities for the region. Principal Accountabilities -30% Assist the CI lead to Identify, lead, and manage the site portfolio of CI opportunities to execute, deliver, and capture value for the site and business. Participate in and support the site ACI to ensure process deliverables are met. Utilize the appropriate lean and/or six sigma tools (5 Step Value Realization Process, Kaizen, Statistically Supported Decision Making (SSDM), 5S, DMAIC, Project Identification and Selection Workshops (PISW), Value Stream Mapping (VSM)) to garner maximum value for the site and the BU. Be a key leader for the site in implementing and using TRACC (What means TRACC) in support of the Cargill Manufacturing Excellence System (CMES). 30% Implement the CI plan to build and expand CI capabilities across the site. Coach and mentor site team members working toward LSS certification. Deliver local training as needed. 30% Support for other facilities and CSSTNA/corporate programs. Teach/facilitate corporate or CSSTNA CI classes (e.g., Lean Leader, SSDM, Black Belt) up two times per year. 10% Interact and collaborate with the CSSTNA Group and local leaders within the Production Excellence, Capital Excellence, Reliability Excellence, and related Operations Continuous Improvement roles to develop standard practices and enhance the CI culture across all regional facilities. Required Qualifications –
? Bachelor's degree ? 3+ year working experience ? Participated in 5 or more LSS cost savings or efficiency projects with measurable results ? 1+ years of experience in projects that span across multiples teams or functions within an organization to accomplish project goals ? 1+ years of experience performing analytical problem solving: Able to identify problems; able to apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root causes ? Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment. ? Ability to manage multiple priorities. ? Strong attention to detail. ? Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills. ? Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written. ? Experience training or developing others. ? Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%) ? Demonstrate influential ability to other teams Preferred Qualifications –
?? Certified Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt ? Experience with program-management software such as Clarizen/MyPPM. ? Accelerated Continuous Improvement experience. ? 1+ years of Working knowledge of or experience working with Reliability Excellence maintenance practices
