This role is located in Chesterfield, MO. The Research Associate will be a member of the Controlled Environment Platform and will report to the Production Supervisor. They will be accountable for greenhouse and growth chamber management, producing high quality plants, seed, and data at or above targets, and using data to drive decisions and process improvements. Due to the continuous nature of the work, the ability to work weekends and off-shift hours is a necessity, with holiday coverage as needed. This is a fast-paced production environment focused on efficient delivery of team and project goals. Responsibilities:Work in a team environment to support overall business, platform, and personal goals, partnering with team members and collaborators to ensure successPerform plant production tasks in greenhouses and growth chambers to support Biotechnology pipeline targets and timelinesClosely manage controlled environment growth conditions, plant health, nutrition, seed production, pest management, and assay data collectionLead team activities including planting, sampling, harvesting, and seed processingUtilize Microsoft office applications and corporate databases to record and communicate dataFollow best practice documents and adhere to ISO standards and regulatory requirementsContinually seek opportunities to improve production processesFoster strong networks with customers and cross functional collaboratorsWeekend and holiday shift coveragePromote a safe work environmentFoster a culture of openness and trust within the team while maintaining a focus on product qualityQualifications:Required Education and Skills/Experience:Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Agronomy, Plant Sciences or related field3-5 years of field, greenhouse management, or agricultural production work experienceSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal oversight to drive resultsMust enjoy working as a part of a team and across functions in a dynamic work environmentStrong time management, interpersonal and problem solving skillsBasic computer skills and proficient with Microsoft office applicationsAbility to seek and provide constructive feedback Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work off shift and weekends as necessaryDesired Education and Skills/Experience:Master???s Degree in Biology, Agronomy, Plant Sciences or related fieldControlled environment experienceDemonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships with new and existing business partners at all levels of the organizationAccountability for agricultural research projects and effective communication and decision making with stakeholders and managementExperience making data directed decisions leveraging analytic tools and statisticsProven ability to assimilate data, present results in a concise manner, and leverage data to provide improvements to existing and future processesDemonstrated leadership through influence Who is Monsanto?
