Title: Corporate Privacy OfficerOffice Location: Lakeville, MNIf applicable: In March, 2019 the Apple Valley, MN and Northfield, MN Compeer offices will combine and move to a new office location in Lakeville, MNPosition Overview: This position reduces the organization s legal, compliance, and reputation risk by developing and overseeing the organization s privacy strategy and compliance program. This includes overseeing all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of, and adherence to, the organization s policies and procedures involving client and team member privacy or federal and state laws involving privacy, data protection, and electronic verification of client identity.Successful candidates will:Builds a strategic and comprehensive privacy program, including appropriate policies and procedures, to enable consistent, effective data privacy practices; minimizes privacy risk; and ensures the confidentiality of private client and team member data.Works closely with the Legal and Compliance teams along with Security and Technology teams to set strategy; develop the organization s approach to privacy matters involving technology systems, process, and data; establishes governance for the privacy program; and ensures alignment between security, business technology, and compliance functions.Serves as an information privacy resource to the organization regarding the release of information and privacy-related issues. Partners with business leaders and provides training and direction to team members on compliance issues.Coordinates with the Compliance team to ensure that the requirements of the privacy program are implemented through the organization s vendor management program and ensures that the organization s contracts have appropriate data security and privacy terms.Ensures organizational compliance with applicable regulations and policy development.Provides audit training in regards to regulations and may assist with audit findings.Provides semi-annual report of the Compliance Team s achievements and challenges to the Board Audit Committee.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Bachelor s degree in business administration, public policy, data science, finance, economics, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.6 or more years of experience in public policy, regulatory, or legal experience involving data privacy, data protection, cybercrime, online business, or information technology preferred.Strong understanding of the legal, regulatory compliance, or public policy issues arising out of data privacy, data protection, cybercrime, and/or information technology.Basic understanding of current privacy laws and strong willingness to learn and develop in the face of an uncertain and rapidly evolving area of legal and compliance risk.Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.High level of integrity.Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.Ability to remain objective in balancing business needs and risk.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.Valid driver s license.On July 1, 2017 AgStar Financial Services, Badgerland Financial and 1st Farm Credit Services joined together as Compeer Financial, strengthening our commitment to the agricultural community.Compeer Financial, headquartered in Sun Prairie, WI, exists to champion the hopes and dreams of rural America like never before.
