Job Summary: The Corrosion & Inspection Technician will provide technical field support to the Mechanical Integrity Team. This position is responsible for supporting the daily function of the inspection contractors by coordinating as well as performing equipment inspections on pressure vessels, storage tanks and piping systems. The C&I Technician will be expected to support the plant on off-hours as needed for plantwide outages, emergencies, or when the expertise is required. Responsibilities:Perform Equipment Inspections and NDTAssists plant engineers in the development of Equipment Repair Plans and review design and hold point requirementsApprove API repair plansWork with Area MTC Specialists to coordinate inspection work during shutdownsSubject Matter Expertise in the inspections and repairs of Rubber lined, Glass lined equipment, and FRP constructed equipment Support the Luling Plant Painting Program and provide technical guidance on coatings and linings.Support the Luling Plant Welding Program and provide technical guidance on weld repairs and inspection methodsProvide off-site vendor surveillance for equipment fabrication and repairsRequired to achieve API 510, 570, and 653 Certification Required to achieve Level II UT Certification and support the site Phased Array ProgramKnowledgeable of Ultrasonic Shear-wave, Phased Array and Radiographic techniquesSupport to the C&I Engineers with the management of the Risk Based Inspection programQualifications:Required Skills/ Education:High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years experience in an occupational function that has a direct relationship to welded assemblies fabricated to national or international standards The C&I Technician will be required to attain a level of expertise in API codes and standards and assumed responsibilities as allowed by the certification. Preferred certifications are as follows:API 510, API 570 and API 653ASNT, SNT-TC-1A, NDE Level II in:Magnetic Particle Testing (MT-R) (AC/DC yoke)Penetrant Testing (PT-R) Solvent and water washable)Radiographic Testing (RT-R) (Film interpretation)Ultrasonic Testing (UT-R) (Digital thickness and longitudinal wave)Visual Testing (VT)NACE Certified Coating Inspector Fundamental understanding of personal computers, and aptitude for Windows based programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).Good decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.Ability to work as an individual contributor and part of a diverse team composed of engineers, contract inspectors, maintenance personnel, Production personnel and leadership.Physical Requirements:Ability to ascend and descend rope ladders Visual acuity, with or without corrective lensesAbility to be respirator fitApply for this job.
