Responsibilities: Operates the boats at safe speeds when carrying crew or cargo as to not cause injury or damages.Observes load hookup and determines safety of load when picking up or settling load on the boat.Manipulates boat controls, such as throttles and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crew boat or line handling boat according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. Cleans and maintains crew boats.Inspects crew boats for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.Performs vessel maintenance to include cleaning, scraping, painting, assisting with changing oil filters, engines, and lower units.Delivers supplies and crew between rigs and other locations.Complete electronic and paper forms and logs such as maintenance logs, trip tickets, line handling forms, trash run receipts, and facility security checks.Responds to any situation that would require emergency rescue or transit of persons. Requirements: Must have a thorough knowledge of boat operations.
Minimum of six months experience as a licensed pilot. 100 Ton Master License issued by the US Coast Guard
Physical Demands: Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools. Must be able to walk up steps. Navigate deckholes on boat and crawl through bottom areas of the crew boat and other tight spaces. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 25lbs. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
