Crop Advisor The Field Crop Advisor's responsibility is to successfully execute a sales & marketing plan to develop ongoing Business Relationships with CGBAI Clients and Prospects within their assigned territory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist producers in establishing crop production practices to maximize their potential. Assist producers in farming operation needs *
Develop Relationships to Build Customer Loyalty *
Conduct sales calls to determine what motivates customers and how to satisfy their wants and needs with products and services to grow assigned sales territory *
Scout fields, sell seed, fertilizer, and chemical products *
Responsible for the execution of Action Sales Plan *
Generate and maintain a credible forecast for accounts and territories and provide this information *
on a regular basis to Agronomy Sales Manager *
Research and become knowledgeable of regional fertilizer markets *
Communicate with and develop relationships with the CGBAI billing/accounting staff *
Develop relationship and act as an information conduit between terminal personnel, customers, trucking companies and management *
Serve as the primary customer contact for technical and business issues for those accounts and territories assigned. *
Communicate pricing, product selection, market research and competitive analysis *
Attend training secession, networking events, organize and hold or attend events, shows and meetings *
Originate grain and help to implement sound grain marketing programs by working with WBJ grain marketing department. *
Help develop and implement sound programs and methods for control of weeds, crop disease, insects and pests *
Implement strategic company programs developed with identified strategic partners *
Properly follow all company DOT, and OSHA safety procedures and guidelines

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
*
Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills are necessary *
Requires strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization *
Proven leadership and ability to drive sales *
Experience with sales forecasting *
Strong understanding of Agricultural customers and market dynamics *
Extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management *
Strong written and verbal skills *
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office products *
Requires the ability to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision *
Strong customer service skills and the ability to be creative and proactive in developing/delivering solutions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
*
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Agronomy or a related field *
Minimum of three years related experience in selling in the agricultural industry or experience in working in the farming/agricultural industry *
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office products *
Excellent written and oral communication skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATION

Valid Driver's License — Satisfactory Driving Record *
Attain CDL and Ag-Plant License as requested or scheduled. CCA is beneficial.
