Crop Supervisor Objective: The Crop Production Supervisor will become an integral part of our Heimerl Farms team. The supervisor will be assisting in decision making of all agronomy, agronomy technology and will learn where the farm came from, how we got to this point, and where we want to take the family business into the future. Reports To: Johnstown Farm Manager Our Company:Heimerl Farms is a family farm dedicated to growing their swine, cattle, feed mill, crop and trucking operations, we have the need for a crop production supervisor to help take us into the future with our crop division.We currently farm 3000 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat which is used to feed our livestock. We use SMS systems and do soil sampling by grids/zones and apply nutrients variable rate. Prescription maps are used on a field by field basis. These same principals are applied to building variable rate fertilizer that is customized to each field and variety type. Heimerl Farms also utilizes GPS and manure management. We maximize yield with seasonal applications of nutrients and believe this accomplishes higher yields and allows for adjustments in applications. Position Qualifications:Have flexibility to try new things and adjust to our management practices and styles.Mechanic Experience: Large Farm Machinery, Diesel Engines and/or Tractor Trailers.Equipment Operator: Tractor Trailer, Small Excavation, and Farm MachineryClass A CDL is desired but not required, this can be obtained after employment.Communication, Oral: Ability to effectively listen to, understand, and exchange information with others.Communication, Written: Ability to accurately and effectively express ones ideas through writing.Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain a productive and cooperative relationship with others.Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adjust plans and actions based on changing circumstances.Must have agricultural experience and be willing to work long hours in the spring and fall, and to work during other seasons preparing equipment, doing needed repairs, and supervising the cropping team on what jobs need to be completed.A positive attitude and self-motivation is a requirement for our management team. Responsibilities/Key Tasks:Must be willing to work with our suppliers and others on our management team to build and price our complete agronomy package.Mechanical ability and management experience is necessary to maintain farm equipment including daily preventative and repair maintenance.Utilize farm equipment (also dependent upon the season) to perform daily tasks but not limited to tillage, grain cart operation, manure application. Equipment may include but not limited to: combine, tractors, anhydrous ammonia bar, chopper, planters, and sprayer.Need to have the ability to oversee all other operations within the cropping division as well as supervise other employees on a day-to-day basis.Utilize technology hardware and software for efficient task completion and accurate data collection.Follow all SOP'sAssist with all record keeping and report filingAssist in keeping accurate inventories on all parts and supplies needed for the maintenance of all machinery and trucks.Seasonal upkeep of the farm landscape including weed control, mowing, trash disposal, snow removal and general clean up, etc.Provide input into improvements for greater efficiency in the area of maintenance and daily procedures.
