Custom Application Manager

SUMMARY:? Oversees Helena?s custom application function by supervising application personnel and ensuring customer satisfaction.? Must primarily manage a recognized department or subdivision and regularly supervise employees with a minimum equivalence of 80 hours per week (2 fulltime = 80 hours or 1 fulltime and 2 part-time = 80 hours).? Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time.?ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:?Coordinates treatment applications with sales reps and customers including informing customers of product to be used, product rates, and cost per acre.?Schedules the application with the Applicators ensuring proper timing of the application.? Ensures that the Applicators know the correct fields, the product to be used, and product rate.?Oversees the mixing of product, if applicable, to ensure proper chemical ratio.?Oversees the billing to ensure that all products and applications are billed correctly.?Oversees the maintenance and care of all application equipment including expense management.?Maintains all records of applied chemical and fertilizer, rates of product, and wind and weather conditions at the time of application.?Ensures that applicators wear the proper protection and safety equipment.?Provides input on purchases of new equipment regarding selection and justification relative to income.?Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.?Reliable and regular attendance is expected.?SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:? Supervises a minimum of two Custom Applicators and/or Applicators.? Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Helena's policies and applicable laws.? Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.?QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:? High school diploma or equivalent and five years related work experience.? Supervisory experience preferred.?OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:?Mechanical knowledge.?Good communication and interpersonal skills.?General farming knowledge.?Knowledge of Ag pesticides, fertilizer, and weed identification.?CDL and pesticide license.?Ability to read field maps.?Work evenings.?PHYSICAL DEMANDS: ?The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.?
