LOCATION: Hanna City, IL HIRING MANAGER: Court Hruska PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Under the direction of Plant Manager, work in all areas within the company to gain a working knowledge of AG-LAND. FS, INC. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and run all aspects of truck/chemical loading Help dispatch liquid nurse trucks in the spring season Help out when needed at Mapleton Tank Farm Inventory and containment inspection of bulk chemicals Applies crop protection inputs to customer’s fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels to maximize product performance and customer satisfaction. Completes spray/application logs as fields are completed, noting any problems or concerns when they happened. Custom applies/loading of anhydrous ammonia. Custom Application and loading of dry fertilizer. Performs routine maintenance on equipment operated, including, oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning of application equipment as recommended in operators manual to maximize equipment reliability and service life. Assists crops salesmen with crop scouting activities, when possible. Works with other location employees to maintain location, buildings, equipment, and property to enhance company image. Deliver products to customers as required. Gain knowledge of products and services offered by AG-LAND FS, INC. OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Adheres to AG-LAND FS, INC environmental, health, training, and safety policies to prevent accidents or injuries. Adheres to AG-LAND FS, INC. Uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image. Completes projects assigned by Marketing or Operations managers. Attends training meetings, clinics, and schools that will provide knowledge for employee. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions, communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees. Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Proven ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment. Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to custom application business. Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.Prior to Oct. 1, 2019 must have: Class B CDL with endorsements of Hazmat and tanker, Anhydrous Ammonia certified by Dept. of Ag, and DOT physical/drug Prior to April 1, 2020 must have: Commercial “Applicator” license by Dept. of Ag field crops WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work beyond those hours considered normal. Have the ability to lift and carry 70 lbs. Be able to perform minor equipment maintenance and repair. Willing to work outdoors, in weather extremes when necessary.
