Customer Development Manager – Wakerfern

Job SUMMARY:The Customer Development Manager for the Grocery Northeast team is responsible for managing the sale of Tyson retail products within a specific geography for the grocery channel. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing Tysons broker network and executing category/brand strategies that deliver volume and trade spend targets. This role requires knowledge of metro New York customer base. The successful candidate must demonstrate independent drive, creativity, and solid business acumen to continually explore new opportunities to grow distribution and develop long term business strategies and tactics that result in gaining market share. Additional responsiblities of this role include: Deliver sales goal within approved spending guidelines Effectively own and lead the strategic customer planning process that delivers team and company KPIs while properly managing trade limits Monitor business trends and formulate proactive solutions to effectively grow the business Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key partners with focus on sales results, new item performance, and growth opportunities Collaborate both internally and externally with the ability to work in team environment across multiple levels and personalities to properly engage others Prepare pertinent material for effective presentation to customer. This will include innovation, category and business reviews and deliverables oncompany initiatives related to brand strategy. Must demonstrate solid presentation skills aimed to influence and negotiate for win-win outcomes Regularly review company and team reports to maintain constant pulse on the business. Additionally, frequent analysis of IRI and consumer data to understand product performance and category trends. Create action plans and deliver customer solutions for developing business issues. Build relationships with key decision makers. Implement corporate driven initiatives. Broker: Lead the broker team for said geography. Prioritize customer opportunity pipeline; Help resolve any selling obstacles. Train the broker team on Tyson initiatives to include selling tools, promotionalexecution, and new products. Financial Budgets: Manage to the planned trade spend by category; Meet travel and expense budget; Help resolve deduction issues in the market Miscellaneous: Work with trade management, sales planning, and marketing to maximize growth, overcome obstacles and achieve planREQUIREMENTS:Experience: 5+ years of relevant CPG experience preferably to include direct customer sales experience.Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSpecial Skills: Strong organization skills, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work independently; Ability to translate corporate direction into sales successes and the ability to create alignment with the broker Understanding of motivational leadership, conflict resolution and strong selling skills are requiredTo view a full job description and submit your resume for consideration, click APPLY TO THIS POSITION below and follow the prompts.
