Customer Logistics Liaison
Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods division is a leading marketer of a full line of dairy-based consumer, foodservice and food ingredient products across the United States. This division also includes Global Dairy Ingredients that sells a portfolio of value-added dairy ingredients (specialty powders, milk powder, cheese, butter and whey) and offers expertise to large international customers.
Customer Logistics Liaison owns the customer order management process, serving as the primary point of contact to customers, field sales, and the Land OLakes supply chain. Provides direction and coordination of cross-functional resources throughout the order life cycle, ensuring ongoing cost to serve and service metrics, e.g. case-fill and on-time delivery, are met. Leads resolution of order specific logistics issues by coordinating execution of service exceptions with the Land OLakes Warehousing, Transportation, and Product Deployment teams. Routinely evaluates Land OLakes supply chain processes and customer order management practices to identify opportunities to create efficiencies and improve performance against key service metrics. Problem Solving and Decision Making: Provides direction to cross functional teams to meet customer fulfillment expectations, while ensuring company business processes are followed and appropriate cost and quality considerations are made. Identifies problems proactively, determines root cause and is responsible for driving resolution of all issues related to the fulfillment of customer orders. Owns individual decision making and coordinates collaborative decisions to ensure timely resolution. Quantifies costs and evaluates business requirements to help determine the best resolution for critical customer situations. Customer Relationship Management: Communicates, collaborates and negotiates with internal and external customers and supply chain partners to manage service while balancing cost and quality across the supply chain. Develops and owns customer relationship in order to anticipate customer needs and proactively provide service. Balances the need for business practice adherence vs. circumstantial exceptions. Identifies and drives supply chain opportunities for win/win solutions with strategic customers
Process Development and Improvement: Identifies, initiates, develops and executes continuous process improvements and efficiencies; examples include customer focused initiatives and customer scorecards (develop and report). Collaborates with Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales and Financial Services to identify customer behavior trends that may have cost implications or impact our ability to meet service expectations.Skills:
Experience-Education (Required): – 4 year degree required – 3+ years experience in Customer Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field – Demonstrated experience with customer relationship management – Experience with reporting applications Competencies-Skills (Required): -Effective communication (verbal and written) -Interpersonal effectiveness as an individual and in teams -Must be comfortable managing conflict while maintaining a high level of integrity and quality of work. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Ability to prioritize, plan and problem solve to deliver results. -Experience with and desire to work in a team environment -Must have the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally, and provide leadership and direction to others. -System Technical: skilled at working within and across multiple systems and understand how information inputs impact systems and business decisions. -Adept at gathering information efficiently and interpreting/summarizing results. Competencies-Skills (Preferred): -ERP order management experience -Experience in CPG/commodities business -Good working knowledge of EDI; EDI transactions, error management and Trading Partner enablement -Advanced experience with reporting applications and data interpretation EOE M/F/Vets/Disabled.
