Data Engineer – #01S16
We are looking for a creative and highly motivated Data Engineer to join world-class experts in genetics, genomics, data science, and information technology who are transforming how we feed the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience while collaborating on research projects with real-world impact which use machine learning, graph analysis, and data visualization. This role will establish state-of-the-art data infrastructure to support advanced analytics for Global Vegetables, spanning Discovery (trait genetics and new phenotypic data), Breeding (graph-based ancestry and ML-guided predictive breeding), Evaluation of varieties based on mobile analysis (building frameworks to combine deep expertise, image recognition, UAVs and sensors), Manufacturing and Supply Chain (global operations research). You will help build data systems which unlock beneficial traits for crops in fields, greenhouses, and urban farms around the world. You will also work to pioneer and promote state-of-the-art data architecture and practice. This position will collaborate with colleagues across Monsanto Technology, Breeding, Climate Corp, and Enterprise Software Development to support and leverage innovations in advanced data sciences, IT, genomics, operations research, and engineering and automation.
