Data Platforms Lead – #01QZH
We are currently seeking a motivated Data Platforms Lead. This role will be located in St. Louis, MO, reporting to the Automation and Pipeline Connection Lead. The Data Platforms Lead will set the strategy and drive the development of platforms that house critical information about our global plant breeding pipeline and provide the foundation for teams of data scientists to create novel insights through advanced analytics and machine learning.Elements of these data platforms include data engineering and governance solutions that drive breeding operations and enable phase advancements on the next generation of amazing agricultural products. Key Responsibilities:Develop the data strategy and drive the development of platforms that underlie critical applications and make data available for our data science teams. Direct programs that ensure data quality through data that is accurate, consistent and timely. Develop and direct mechanisms to make pipeline data available to enable our most critical breeding pipeline decisions. Engage and partner with Enterprise IT data teams to influence and contribute to company-wide data strategy and information assets. Engage and partner with a network of data managers to ensure coverage of breeding pipelines and develop key metrics. Engage and partner with our Analytics & Pipeline Design team to develop solutions that accelerate and enable our analytics and machine learning portfolio. Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor???s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field Previous experience in a people leadership role Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve solution strategy based on research, data and industry trends Ability to measure and effectively communicate the business value of proposals and deliverables Ability to think strategically about technology and execute as necessary Desired Skills/Experience:Previous experience with the delivery of data engineering, business intelligence and/or data quality solutions Experience with plant breeding or quantitative genetics is a plus Knowledgeable and experienced with large-scale software architecture and cloud-based infrastructural solutionsAbout Us:Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
