We are currently seeking a talented Data Protection Lead. This role will be located in St. Louis, MO, reporting to the Privacy and Data Compliance Lead.This role will play a key role in the evolution of our information security program and data implementation of our data protection program. This role will influence the maturation of our program, demonstrate organizational influence, governance and drive organizational change management. Key Responsibilities: Program Governance:Partner on the implementation, maintenance and adherence to the company???s security, privacy and governance strategy. Research and analyze compliance trends and industry bench-marking to prepare for and monitor upstream risks and issues. Maintain subject matter expertise on changes to the regulatory and compliance landscape. Proactively collaborate with the business and functional teams evaluating the impacts of any changes on the risks and controls including recommendations. Maintain knowledge of security practices across the company to better understand and isolate the risk of exposure or liabilities, assist in the development of realistic preventive measures, and develop effective metrics. Operations:Maintain a strong understanding of ISO security standards, security policies and standards. Develop strategy to align technology landscape with documents policy/standards. Ensure that business units, functional teams and third parties follow the Information security and governance program. Maintain and enhance Data Protection Program. Maintain departmental processes for data inventory and classification operations. Participate in project meetings and provide guidance regarding security controls to eliminate or reduce security risks to our data. Provide guidance of risks and recommended remediation. Work in a collaborative manner to offer support and assistance in compliance-related matters to ensure an open, adequate and effective risk management culture. Review system-related information security plans throughout the company to ensure alignment between security and privacy practices.Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor???s degree in computer science, or other IT and/or related discipline Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience At least 5 years of experience in Information Security delivering enterprise solutions At least 2 years of experience in people management Ability to understand business process flows and to provide recommendations for operationalizing compliance requirements Possess an understanding of architectural direction for complex data management efforts Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse employee base Knowledge of the data management aspects of the product development life cycle, data handling and asset classification Desired Skills/Experience:CISSP or CISM Certification Demonstrated experience executing large scale, enterprise wide projects Personality and Leadership:The successful candidate will be in the ascendancy of their career, have an incredibly strong work ethic, and demonstrate a hunger to drive change and ???roll up the sleeves to get the job done??? attitude Possess a strong technology background with the ability to challenge or validate technology decisions from a position of knowledge and experience Possess the ability to rapidly assimilate business strategies and identify high impact opportunities by applying creative problem-solving solutions Have a proven record of promoting innovation throughout the technology organization, encouraging individuals at all levels to think creatively and foster a dynamic culture throughout the firm Track record of working across multiple global locations, with a solid understanding of the challenges and benefit Experience of working in a matrix organization, achieving goals through partnership and collaboration Have a proven track record of executing on a strategic technology roadmapAbout Us:Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
