Department Superintendent (Glycols) ? Decatur, ILADM OilseedsThis is an exempt level position. Position Summary:Lead day-to-day operations of a Production department producing USP Propylene Glycol from bio-based Glycerin.
Unit operations include Steam-Methane Reformation, Hydrogenolysis in a fixed bed reactor, Distillation, and Evaporation. Job Responsibilities: Proactively work to ensure that all ADM employees, visitors, vendors and contractors understand and comply with the ADM safety policies and proceduresRequire safety and compliance with all state and federal laws and regulationsWork very closely with compliance personnel to ensure continuous audit readiness in a PSM and Food Safety plantUtilize assets efficiently to meet production and quality goalsManage department in keeping with established policies, procedures and plant prioritiesLead department in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve organizational goalsProvide guidance to operators and engineers to achieve short term and long term department performance through use of KPI?s, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence conceptsEmbrace an owner?s mindset by managing costs and continuously focus on efficiency improvementEnsure training and development of all department employeesProvide coaching, accountability, and disciplinary support as necessaryJob Requirements: A bachelor?s degree or higher of Science or Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline5+ years in a production environment in refining/petrochemical/specialty chemicals industry Excellent leadership ability including a vision for future direction, delegation and the ability to lead others in work execution Strong understanding of process control systems and other computer systems Demonstrated scale-up experience and/or new technology development experience in a production environment is a plusKnowledge of multiple processes and unit operations in a full scale production plantKnowledge of PSM and Food Safety Standards is necessaryOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsExcellent planning and organizational skillsProven track record as a team playerHigh energy level and clear customer focus emphasis
