Dev Assignment Production Planner Scheduler (FG-Caldwell, Idaho)

We currently have a Development assignment Production Planner Scheduler position available at our Food Group location in Caldwell, ID.
Summary Develops firm short term (2 weeks), fluid intermediate term (11 weeks), and long term (16 week) production planning schedules for the regional Idaho plant; this includes inventory planning/analysis, discussion and coordination with plant personnel, various Sales/Marketing teams, headquarter demand planning, deployment, customer service, and production managers. The successful candidate must be able to not only understand the details of the products being produced, but also must possess excellent communication skills in order make clear production plans to operations, raw procurement , engineering and be the primary contact with the Boise PPIC group. The successful incumbent will be scheduling more than 300 SKU's and more than 650 million finished pounds per year and will be carrying the current work load of four (4) people. We also view this position as a training position for potential succession to Director of Production Planning s role or to one of the other leadership roles in the new factory. This position is responsible for working closes with other regional Production Planner/Schedulers and provides input and direction for the development of the 18-month schedule based on short and intermediate term plans.
Work with Demand Planning and Production Manager to assist in forecast analysis to determine how the forecast changes impact the production schedules and inventory.
Daily interaction with purchasing department to coordinate the purchase and delivery of materials per the intermediate term schedule.
Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing Food Safety and Product Quality standards.
Analyze and manage inventory levels, allergen constraints, equipment constraints, any possible aging ingredients that need to be scheduled before they become aged, write deviations and route for approval, plant capacities, forecasted demand, and sales requirements to develop a short and intermediate term production schedule.
Communicates with other plants regarding the status of used oil and sends oil to be rendered, transfers oil to other plants and brings in used oil from other plants.
Coordinate new product introductions from development planning, test runs, and first production runs.
Develop a two-week firm production planning schedule utilizing the intermediate term production plan, and then coordinate with operations and purchasing to create a schedule that meets the requirements of both operations and PPIC.
Coordinate any necessary schedule changes based on current week's production or material shortfalls. Notify PPIC of any schedule changes that will impact their orders.
Generate bulk, packaging, and inventory reports for purchasing, operations, Sales/Marketing and Customers that provide information for them to use internally to determine their material shortfalls and their made to order schedules.
Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university.
Two plus years related experience and/or training.
Certificates: American Institute of Planning and Inventory Control preferred.
Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
