Digital Communications Lead
The digital communications lead will be responsible for managing and leading global digital efforts for Cargill?s animal nutrition enterprise. This includes implementing a digital communications strategy for the enterprise and local businesses. This role will help Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) make the best use of digital marketing and communication channels to advance its communications and business goals. The digital specialist will coordinate projects to meet business needs and lead the development and maintenance of the animal nutrition website experience. While we seek an individual with broad knowledge of key digital disciplines, (e.g., web content management, social media, digital advertising, media monitoring), the successful candidate will have practical experience with organic and paid search that they can apply to the businesses? marketing and communications efforts. This role reports to the Senior Director of CAN Global Communications and will have close partnerships with Cargill?s corporate social media, communications, brand, and marketing teams. This is an emerging discipline in CAN, and will require a significant amount of influencing and educating others. This person will also serve as a liaison for CAN businesses and the corporate Web team in creation of new websites, website redesign, enhancements, and use of social media.
25% Consult on digital strategy. Elicit, understand and synthesize the goals and objectives of our businesses. Develop and recommend the strategies and specific tactics appropriate to achieve objectives with the most digital impact; Help define success metrics; Educate colleagues about digital disciplines, trends and best practices for creating impactful digital experiences; Review and evaluate digital marketing tools and services.
35% Lead implementation of digital strategies. Work across channels and teams to implement agreed-to strategies; Develop briefing materials and project planning tools to coordinate efforts across teams; Create deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, and mockups to guide the efforts of those helping with the implementation; Apply user experience design principles to make sure efforts are usable and compelling.Translate business objectives into technical and/or system requirements in collaboration with internal or external IT.Manage agencies providing specialist services.
25% Media Monitoring/analytics. Provide social/digital monitoring, analysis and recommendations to support the CAN global communications and leadership teams. Responsible for detecting patterns, identifying what?s relevant and interpreting information from key media outlets. Develop and refine data, dashboards and scorecards to support clear, interesting and impactful means to demonstrate social/digital insights, tracking and monitoring. Stay current with agriculture, food and social and digital media trends, strategies and tools.
15% Educate and advise on Search Engine Optimization and Search Marketing. Educate and advise content developers on SEO best practices for keyword research, onpage elements, site quality and link-building; Consult with channel owners and key contributors to develop keyword portfolio; Create and manage corporate paid placement campaigns; monitor and track search engine performance and trends Skills:
? Minimum bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or related field. ? Minimum 5 years experience in web or digital marketing ? Demonstrated experience with implementing SEO recommendations, creating and managing PPC campaigns, and monitoring search engine performance; B2B focus preferred. ? Basic to intermediate experience with using Web Content Management systems to build and maintain sites.
