Director of Animal Nutrition Research ? Decatur, ILADM Research & DevelopmentThis is an exempt level position. Job Description and Requirements: The successful candidate will assume responsibility in a central leadership position within ADM Research.
As one of the directors of the Research Division, this individual will become a member of the leadership team responsible for the direction of ADM Research and for planning and executing research portfolios to support the ADM Corporate strategy.
This position will report to Ryan Lane, Vice President, Animal Nutrition and Biotechnology Research.
This is a challenging position that requires leading and directing a holistic research program for specialty feed ingredients and additives as well as nutritional solutions for livestock, aquaculture, and companion animal at ADM.
It requires rethinking how ADM will leverage its immense capabilities to develop new value-added products, services and solutions.
In addition, this position will encompass mining ADM products and co-products for nutritionally active ingredients that can be sold with advantage by capitalizing on the nutritional benefits imparted to the animal.
In addition, this position will actively develop a robust research program in animal health and wellness.
This position will require development of a forward-looking research strategy for the collective ADM Animal Nutrition business to maintain the product pipeline while constantly moving to more differentiated products with the potential for higher revenues. Job Responsibilities: Accountable for the successful development and timely delivery of value added product offerings and supporting research capabilities within Animal Nutrition at ADM ResearchLead group managers to develop and promote projects from conception to implementation at production scale, properly allocating resources to best serve ADM?s research needsResponsible for talent development within the Animal Nutrition group, including recruitment of proper talent, professional development of individuals to potentially assume new responsibilities and leadership roles within research
Establish fluid lines of communication with operations and commercial groups, helping to articulate the technical attributes, rationale, justification of short-, mid-, long-term projects
Job Requirements: Demonstrated ability to leader both the technical and personnel aspects of a research organizationAdvanced degree in a relevant science.
Ph.D. or masters with relevant experience.Ability to communicate with a diverse audience of stakeholders from both technical and nontechnical areas and to build support for new concepts with various parts of the ADM hierarchyDemonstrated success in taking ideas to commercializationAn affinity for customer connections and customer focusKnowledge or experience in animal nutrition and feed ingredient developmentFlexibility in approaching new opportunitiesGlobal viewpoint
