Director, Corporate Strategy
Position PurposeThe Corporate Strategy Director works closely with Cargill?s Executive Team and other senior business and function leaders to develop high-impact corporate, regional, business, and function strategies. Working within Cargill's Corporate Strategy group provides an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our company and the broader Food & Agriculture industry! You will work in partnership with Cargill?s leadership to develop winning strategies that drive sustained, profitable growth in an increasingly dynamic and global Food & Agriculture environment. You will advise on how to manage the risks and capture the opportunities presented by the biggest global issues facing the world today ? from food security and climate change to global trade flows and new technologies. Specific work may include advising existing businesses, evaluating market entry opportunities, developing new business models, and defining our long-term corporate and regional strategy.?As the Director, you will provide a holistic view of the region as we define our long-term regional strategy, identify, attract and develop the regional talent and counsel regional leaders.Principal AccountabilitiesProvide guidance to and oversight of multiple large-scale and high-impact strategy projects simultaneously, including the development of high-level implementation plans aligned with the organization?s strategic goals and objectives?Identify key issues across Cargill, and in specific region or area of expertise, that require leadership and strategic engagementCounsel senior leaders on a range of topics including current and potential opportunities and threats; create buy-in for strategic recommendationsMaintain intelligence of external trends and provide connectivity across businesses and functions within Cargill, and in region or area of expertiseProvide strategic input into evaluation of MADJV opportunities in collaboration with the businesses, Corporate Development and FP&A?Utilize expert knowledge of and experience in strategy development to lead teamsCoach and develop direct reports to prepare them for future roles within Strategy and across Cargill?Provide input on the broader talent model and recruitment of top talent for Corporate StrategyBuild and maintain relationships with strategy consulting firms, graduate business schools and other external advisors#LI-KL1Skills:
Required?7+ years of experience in strategy development (e.g. corporate, business, and functional) within a corporation or a leading consulting firm,?Of which 5+ years are leading teams at executive level engagements and/or working with senior leadershipStrong and demonstrated strategy tool kit, business acumen, team and project leadership skills?Excellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh sense of accountability, strong will to succeed, demonstrated desire to learn, and pragmatismAbility to travel typically <10% but occasional projects with higher requirements (up to 50% short term)Strong expertise in the region and proficiency in EnglishBachelor's degreePreferred?Master?s/MBA degree?Exposure to, or demonstrated affinity for, Food & Ag or related industriesLanguage ability in Spanish, & Portuguese?
