Director of Agronomy
CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a progressive member cooperative in Northwestern North Dakota to hire a Director of Agronomy to join their dynamic team. To direct, promote, and coordinate agronomy operations within the organization in a manner that will optimize and increase the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. Responsibilities:Responsible for managing all Agronomy operation.Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve company objectives for Agronomy products & services.Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans & programs, both short & long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the organization.Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.Source and market seed sales.Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities as well as communication of sales programs, incentives and purchase options.Be a team player within the whole Cooperative organization (grain, fuel, feed and agronomy)Serve as a liaison between suppliers, vendors, and distributors to sales staff, management and employees.Oversee development and production of promotional and collateral materials.Develop & recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio & market share in relation to preset standards & industry & economic trends.Ensure effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives fall within designated budgets.Oversee & evaluate market research, adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market & competitive conditions.Ongoing communication with Agronomy staff to monitor competitive products and marketing activities.Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners.Conduct marketing surveys on current & new product concepts; provide feedback for future product development. Basic Qualifications:4 year degree in Agronomy, Ag Econ, Ag Business, Ag Ed, Ag engineering, Soil or Weed Science. (6-10 years related job experience may substitute for education)5 years industry experience.3 years’ experience managing an Agronomy Department and supervising staff.3 years’ experience developing and executing marketing plans.
