Director of CHS Energy Marketing and Communications
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Enterprise Marketing and Communications group. We are looking for a Director of CHS Energy Marketing and Communications to drive business objectives of the Energy business unit, in support of overall CHS business goals, by providing strategic marketing and communications consulting, planning and execution.
CHS Energy business unit includes refined fuels, propane, lubricants, transportation, pipelines and terminals, and refinery groups. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, proven leadership and ability to influence and work with multi-disciplined teams. Strong analytical, change management and process development skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams and competing demands are required. You will:Lead the strategic marketing and communications for the Energy business unit and its brands. Plan, execute and manage strategic marketing and internal and external communications programs for Energy.Anticipate and manage issues and crises as they relate to Energy.Stay proactively abreast of issues and opportunities within global energy markets and translate knowledge into actionable programs that drive the CHS Energy business unit.Manage CHS Energy, Cenex and leadership reputation and image through strategic message development and communications coaching.Support the energy leadership team with communications.Proactively seek earned media opportunities and provide response to incoming media requests for Energy.Lead change communications for Energy.Budget annually with energy group and Enterprise Marketing and Communications (EMC); effectively manage overall budget.Actively seek out, create and leverage/manage integration with stewardship and government affairs on energy communications opportunities and issues.Strategically source outside vendor-partners to help deliver programs; work in collaboration with strategic sourcing and any other vendor-partner initiatives designed to effectively manage outside spend.Determine and execute measurements that align with overall measurement goals.Prepare and advocate for business cases for programs, as needed, and communicate/socialize energy program goals and outcomes throughout CHS.Manage a team of communicators to ensure effective, strategic and proactive support of marketing and communications needs for the Energy BUs and brands, including the Cenex brand.Create and leverage cross-enterprise opportunities to best position and drive Energy marketing and communications.Strategically integrate CHS, Cenex and Energy sub-brands to deliver clear, strategically competitive positioning among Energy?s target audiences; ensure compliance within CHS brand pyramid.Serve as a member of the CHS crisis communications team.Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations10 plus years of marketing and communications industry experience to include:Strategic marketing and communications planning and executionUnderstanding of marketing and communications needs of complex, multi-division global companiesAgency management skillsBudget planning and management5 years of experience leading, developing and managing individual performancePreferred Qualifications: (desired)Master?s degree in Marketing or CommunicationsUnderstanding of agricultural industry and energy marketsExperience managing employees remotely
