This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.?QUALIFICATIONS:?- Strong leadership experience working with a diverse crop and field team- Strong aptitude and understanding of crop programs and the ability to implement these programs, including irrigation, fertility, pest control, weed control, and soil amendments- Ability to excel working in an entrepreneurial environment- Proven ability to coordinate the activities of teams in diverse functional areas of a farm- Strong communication, organizational skills, team-building, and team-working skills- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position- The ability to manage large-scale (5,000+ acre) farm in multiple locations- Proven ability to effectively communicate and comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively represent the company in industry-related boards and events- Strong MS Office skills- Bachelor s degree in Agriculture related field is required- Master s degree in Agriculture Business or related field is preferred- Five to seven years of large-scale crop experience- Three to five years of budgeting and purchasing- Necessary to have basic understanding of safety programs?JOB DESCRIPTION:?Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a well qualified Director of Crop and Field Operations, for this upstate New York Ag producer. The Director of Crop and Field Operations works with leadership to oversee all crop and field operations.? The Director is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all crop and field initiatives and will be accountable for the performance of the entire crop and field business.The Director of Crop and Field Operations will direct, promote and coordinate the optimization of day-to-day crop and field operations.? Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives and values of this Ag producer, the Director will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the growth and development of the crop and field operations.? This is a high profile and demanding role, requiring a combination of keen analytical, cogent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and people management skills for complex operational implementations.?The Director must be a results-oriented leader who can build strong working relationships and function effectively at all levels of the organization, from the shop floor to the senior management team. He or she must be able to think strategically, while maintaining focus on safety, accountability and daily field operations.
