Simplot Companys Assistant General Counsel, Environmental and Regulatory Affairs, the Director of Global Regulatory Compliance
Food & Agribusiness is responsible for ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance of Simplots internationally marketed products. Candidate will have a strong scientific background and/or extensive experience with the regulation of food and agriculture products in international markets. RESPONSIBILITIESOversee a center-led global regulatory compliance function, which provides leadership and strategic direction to support all business groups and subsidiaries in assuring regulatory compliance of Simplots internationally marketed food and agriculture products Partner and collaborate with regulatory compliance employees in business groups and subsidiaries to build a global community of expertise focused on knowledge sharing and capability building Research and monitor in-country regulatory requirements for food and product safety, packaging, labelling, marketing, ingredients and manufacturing for Simplots internationally marketed food and agriculture products, and track and update information in internal product data management system and document repository (forms, templates, documentation, etc.) to ensure accuracy Develop in-country network of local regulatory employees and/or consultants in applicable international markets and work with local regulatory compliance counsel to ensure products are compliant with laws and regulations Report on regulatory developments in the international food and agribusiness industries as they pertain to potential changes in regulations Provide regulatory compliance advice and expertise for new products entering any global market Assist the Business Groups and the Legal Department with the registration of Simplots products in foreign markets Develop a framework by country for the governance and compliance of potential international recalls Other duties and responsibilities as assignedREQUIREMENTSBachelor of Science or higher in food science, biology, microbiology, chemistry, or similar field or Bachelor of Arts or higher with extensive relevant experienceMinimum of 10 years of applicable experience in global food safety and regulatory compliance, in particular across Asia, the Americas, Australia and EuropeDemonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently monitor, inform, suggest, and recommend actions necessary to maintain regulatory complianceAbility to build relationships and work well with employees at all levels, gain credibility quickly, and effectively partner with business units across the globeIs comfortable working cross functionally, synthesizing guidance from QA, Group Regulatory Compliance, Product Development, and Sales Willingness to handle day-to-day functions while still providing high-level strategic guidanceExcellent written and oral communications skillsProven ability to lead multi-country, cross-functional projectsSelf-starter, able to function effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust be willing to work hands-on within a small team, and quickly master a complex array of products, business processes, and systemsAbility to travel internationally (approximately 25%) HOW TO APPLYVisit www.simplot.com/careersSelect Job SearchSelect Current OpportunitiesSelect All Open PositionsApply to Job ID #3932 Please prepare a cover letter outlining your interest and qualifications and submit with your resume via our online application process described above.
