Job Summary:Reporting to the Sr. Director of Commercial Development, the Director of Portfolio Management and Optimization will be responsible for creating and maintaining the chemical portfolio plan for Nutrien Ag Solutions. This position will be responsible for collaborating across multiple departments within Nutrien Ag Solutions to ensure that the chemical portfolio maximizes both grower agronomic needs and Nutrien Ag Solutions margin expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, agronomic, analytical, collaboration and project management skills, combined with a winning attitude. Key Tasks:Build and maintain a strategic chemical portfolio plan In partnership with Strategic Supplier Management, sales, and our proprietary products departments, build and maintain a chemical portfolio that meets grower agronomic needs and Nutrien Ag Solutions margin performance expectations. Develop a process to identify new opportunities / ideas, non-conforming SKU’s and migration plan to move non-preferred suppliers and products to preferred suppliers and products.Work with Strategic Supplier Management to develop brand ladders for key segments.Work with the Regional Chemical Managers to optimize share and margin of supplier and proprietary brands.Collaborate with the Regional Chemical Managers, Strategic Supplier Management to identify gaps in the proprietary portfolio, providing guidance to proprietary product managers as requiredTrack performance and progress of product optimization initiatives, adjusting tactics to meet market conditions.Lead the weekly Regional Chemical Manager conference call, host monthly Development Committee meeting and collaborate with Loveland Products for product development plans and outcomes Implement strategic portfolio plans in the fieldWork closely with the Regional Chemical Managers and Strategic Supplier Management to ensure successful implementation and execution of strategic plans.Maintain open channels of communication and collaboration with the regions via regular updates and quarterly strategy meetings both remote and in-person.Collaborate with internal and external partnersWork with Strategic Supplier Management to complete supplier assessment scorecards, select preferred suppliers, and measure supplier growth goals.Co-create strategic marketing plans with priority suppliers.Assist the digital team by confirming that omni-channel offerings are aligned with organization strategy.Cooperate with the pricing team to ensure strategic product are priced to value, including:Leverage brand ladder for less expensive options.Move the organization up the value chain.To deliver annual Chemical budget of (upfront margins + rebates)Qualifications:4 Year university degree in Business, Agriculture or related field. Master’s degree preferred (e.g. Agronomy, MBA).5+ years of progressive experience in retail sales and marketing in an Agriculture-related field and / or product management / Ai development with one of our suppliersExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to comfortably and professionally correspond with a variety of team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization and customer base.Proven success managing multiple projects at once.Track-record of directly leading teams to achieve a common goal.Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others not under your management control.Commitment to working with shared leadership responsibilities and in cross-functional teams.Technical proficiency with a variety of software applications, and aptitude of business analytics.The highest ethical standards and sense of accountabilityTravel Requirements:40-60%, North America OnlyNutrien Ag Solutions, a Nutrien Company, is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
