In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.Role Description: The Director, Product Management Connectivity and Information will be fully responsible for the diagnostic information and connectivity ecosystem and will lead the efforts to design and implement the connectivity strategy. The Director will be responsible for designing and monitoring team performance measures as well as continuously updating the business model and planning to support the connectivity strategy. The Director will lead a cross functional team including USA and International Commercial colleagues, R&D (Zoetis VRMD), ITS, and Manufacturing (Zoetis GMS) to develop the connectivity strategy, manage the existing solutions and execute both the strategy and any on-market improvements to the connectivity platform, always representing the interests of the customer. For on-market products, the incumbent incorporates inputs from a cross-functional product team (CFPT) to define the problem statement and prioritize product backlog. The product manager will need to be a strong leader to guide the CFPT in product break-fix needs, constant maintenance and performance improvements, and delivering enhancements that create long-term customer value. The successful candidate will be attuned to customer needs and their experience using our diagnostic products. This position may also require managing vendor relationships (depending on the product) and travel both domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
Responsibilities: * Maintain a thorough knowledge of the customer journey and requirements as they pertain to connectivity between Zoetis diagnostic solutions and practice information management systems. * Identify and execute on consistent improvements in the Zoetis connectivity solutions as required by customer and commercial needs. * Enhance the Zoetis information offering through novel products and concepts that include the customer and market needs as well as those of the pet owner or producer. * Identify, acquire and maintain external relationships with individuals and companies that can help enhance the Zoetis connectivity platform. * Provide all customer and system requirements and the associated documentation for all product backlog, improvement or new functionality deliverables. This includes all supporting documentation such as (not limited to):
* Initiation Gate * Internal Gates
* Product Requirements Documentation * Product/Design Specification Documentation * Approved Test Report * Requirements Traceability Matrix * Cyber and Information Security Risk Assessments * Verification and Validation Protocols and Reports * Beta studies, including work with Commercial/Medical teams to identify and manage beta sites and requirements * External Gates * For all solutions, both on-market break-fix or improvements as well as new solutions or opportunities, lead the CFPT as described above to prioritize and execute on all targets and goals through defining the problem statement, maintaining the connectivity product backlog and establishing new requirements by:
* Aligning with Commercial and Finance teams on product financial goals * Monitoring product performance * Detecting and proposing necessary product updates * Providing ROI assessments for projects * Bringing on-the-ground feedback into product backlog with long-term strategy in mind * Knowing the product users and product and connecting the two into clear product requirements * Putting emphasis on continuous improvement and prioritization * Understanding when to make tradeoffs in investing between projects * Lead a cross-functional global product team (CFPT) collaboration by:
* Working effectively with other functions at Zoetis * Guiding empowerment of these CFPTs to make key decisions * Identifying and leveraging team members to accomplish goals * Using insight and feedback from across Zoetis to improve products and processes * Being the Voice of Customer * Deliver on items open in product backlog with planned release schedule. * Be an internal advocate and product evangelist as well as a customer voice. * Operate as product owner in ITS software release process. * Monitor market, competitive, and technology trends. * Create and provide documentation as necessary to assist Commercial and/or Technical Service teams with training and service. * Communicate regularly with Commercial teams on product update and deployment plans. * Develop presentations for status and future strategies for the product. * Work with Zoetis Business Development to negotiate or re-negotiate agreements, if applicable to product. * Work closely with the Director of Product Management and the Director of Innovation to ensure continuity of the diagnostics platform both on-market as well as for innovation. Qualifications (Skills/Traits, Education, & Prior Experience): * BS/BA and relevant experience required, MBA preferred * 10+ years of related experience * Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to manage budgets and expenses * Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing strategies and technical requirements * Demonstrated ability to be a team player and player/coach * Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
