The Sensory Science Marketing Director is responsible for leading, planning and generating relevant insights about how our ingredients impact the consumer and customer experience using sensory perceptions, sensory affect and modern sensory methodologies to accelerate development cycles and increase market successPassionate to understand and represent the needs of our customers and their consumers, the successful candidate will work closely with the sensory team, technical counterparts, sales, marketing leadership and other colleagues to drive unparalleled stakeholder value Job Responsibilities:
Design, implement, analyze and generate purposeful insights for assigned research initiatives aligned with business strategies and plans in partnership with cross functional stakeholders and marketing leadershipLead and develop the sensory science marketing team as a hands-on director and technical coachPlan, oversee and execute through self or others sensory programs, projects and initiatives to meet business needsOversee the design, recruiting, screening, training and running of panels and sensory studies according to best practice methodologies in support of business goalsDrive the value of sensory science marketing through the organization and work to ensure a globally harmonized program and approachesLead the analysis of data following key study completion and develop logical, objective and actionable insights to drive businessReport study findings and recommendations through written and verbal communications to key stakeholders including senior leadership in a timely fashionDevelop and maintain a customer service orientation and in-depth relationships with key stakeholders including customers, flavorists, product developers, culinary and marketingOversee, adhere to and maintain GMP?s, ISO procedures, GLP, safety, lab notebooks and other electronic record keeping toolsEffectively and frequently communicate with team and Manager about priorities, progress, opportunities for improvement, development needs etc.Stay current on relevant new sensory methods and related technologies, industry trends and consistently demonstrate the ability to connect their impact on technical and business needs, and actively pursue professional development for self and teamUtilize and train others on Compusense and other relevant department softwarePerform other related duties and assignments as requiredJob Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Food Science, Sensory Science or related scientific fieldMaster?s Degree in Food Science or related scientific field preferredMBA highly desiredMinimum 10 years? experience in Sensory EvaluationMinimum 5 years? experience directly managing sensory staff, lab and panelsExperienced in sensory research testing tools, methodologies and techniquesExperienced in proper food / bev
