General Purpose and Scope of Position: Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an experienced career-minded Dispatcher to be part of a close, efficient fertilizer team that coordinates and schedules fertilizer applications and deliveries. This position will also assist in all aspects of customer service including phones calls, work order processing, applications scheduling and inventory management. Key Skills and Abilities Include:Ability to learn detailed and specific procedures and processes and execute them accurately and efficientlyAbility to respond to professionally to common inquiries or complaints from other employees, customers, sales team members, regulatory agencies, suppliers, etc.Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical applicationsAbility to read, write, and speak the English language fluentlyAbility to sit at desk or computer terminal to perform writing, and keying/typing informationMust have ability to perform data entry of 7500 to 9000 kph with accuracy and under strict regulatory timelines Key Personal Attributes Include:High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience within the agricultural fertilizer industry preferredMust be able to read, analyze, and interpret written procedures and reportsPrevious experience with JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning order entry system, preferred.JD Edwards s practices and process training will be provided, as necessary.Proficiency with computers to intermediate level utilizing Microsoft Windows Office Suite ProgramsRequires excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills (verbal and written) for interaction with customers, fellow employees (via telephone, two-way radio and email) and the general public, including the ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer serviceMust have strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments Specific Responsibilities include:Process calls from our salespeople, customers and other branch locations for orders of materials, including taking orders, processing orders and preparing paperwork for pickup or delivery. Complete applicable paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to ensure satisfactory billing.Coordinate transfers of product between branches, including contacting trucking companies to coordinate shipments and instruct drivers on requirements of the loads as needed to facilitate merchandise movementResponsible for Inventory tracking and control, including conducting physical inventory counts of products stored in warehouses and bulk storage areas as requiredOperate truck scale and complete weight tags, bills of lading and hazardous materials shipping papers to ensure accurate, consistent and efficient traffic movementAnswer and respond to customer inquiries and requests for orders (telephone, computer and walk-in traffic) and inquiries about product orders in a timely, accurate and appropriate mannerCommunicate directions and instructions, both verbally and in writing, to customers, vendors, other employees and the publicCalculate total quantities of products by weight and/or volumetric measurementsPresent a professional image to customers in all interactions (verbal, computer and in-person) and in personal appearanceMake use of standard office equipment: Computer software and programs, Fax machines, postage machines, copier machines, etc. to effectively perform all aspects of position responsibilitiesAssist with electronic order entry and processing (sales orders, shipping documents, invoicing) utilizing JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) softwareProvide backup and assistance to other dispatchers and/or receptionist, answering phonesProactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance skill set and knowledge baseFollow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbookPerform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner Compensation and Benefits:Competitive wage depending on experienceEmployee health and retirement benefit offering COMPANY CULTURE Wilbur-Ellis is a company you can be proud to call your employerWilbur-Ellis markets and distributes agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and food ingredients.
