Dispatcher/Live Haul Driver – 18000618
SUMMARY: Utilizes trucks and drivers to ensure the timely, complete and accurate delivery of livestock by performing the essential duties and responsibilities. Drives truck with capacity of more than thirty tons transporting animals to and from specified farm and plant destinations by performing the following duties. Power washing trailer is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ? Monitors drivers on duty and coordinates trucks for market/live haul/animal disposal. ? Schedules Live Haul loads according to available equipment and loads being sold. ? Works with garage on prioritizing repairs and reassigns equipment to drivers as needed. ? Maintains excellent communication between all departments. ? Assists all vehicle accidents, investigations and reports. ? Ensures compliance of federal and state DOT requirements. ? Performs driver and equipment audits and performs sanitation inspections. ? Receives incoming calls from farms, drivers and loading. Handles issues accordingly. ? Logs all issues that pertain to transportation and production. ? Maintains dept. records such as DVIR?s, Air-Weigh scale audits, On-time tracking and Departure schedules. ? Assists with special projects as assigned. ? Other related duties as assigned. SAFETY ? Wear seatbelt anytime vehicle is in motion ? Safely operate tractor/trailer combination unit with high center of gravity ? Follow required and recommended safety practices and procedures ? Report all accidents promptly through proper authorities OPERATIONS ? Successfully complete a Road Test and be issued a certificate ? Properly Pre-Trip and Post-Trip the equipment ? Work in single driver environment ? Handle shipping documents to insure accuracy and timely submission ? Position equipment properly to safely load and offload animals at farm or plant destination ? Drive day/night in variety of climates and traffic ? Use on-board computer ? Maintain logs, DVIR, itinerary, and other paperwork as required ? Fuel equipment and properly use on-board computer (or turns in logs) daily PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ? Must be able to pass DOT physical upon initial hire ? Must be able to load and unload animals at farm and plant destination. ? Must be able to lift 50 # without difficulty, bend, walk, stoop, and sit for extended periods of time COMMUNICATIONS ? Complete all required information on the CDL Driver Application For Employment ? Be able to read and speak the English language ? Be able to understand highway traffic signs and signals ? Be able to respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records ? Handle shipping documents to insure accuracy and timely submission ? Use Farm Directions Book, maps or GPS to avoid getting lost or going out-of-route ? Be able to converse with our business associated to resolve problems in a civil manner ? Be able to calculate simple mathematical problems dealing with market haul. COMPLIANCE ? Comply with all Bio-Security (BMS) and Environmental (EMS) management system?s rules and regulations ? Comply with DOT rules and regulations ? Comply with all M-B established policies and procedures ? No DOT Recordable preventable accidents within the last three (3) years with a CMV ? No more than one (1) moving violation within the last three (3) years ? Comply with all TQA animal handling regulations.
