PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Responsible for the management of inventory and distribution of seed corn and soybeans consistent with business objectives. Responsible for monitoring Quality Control standards for all seed distributed from Camden Warehouse in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP Supervises and leads the seasonal general laborers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Leads and manages the building of seed loads to order.Coordinates with Distribution Manager on supply, new products and shipments.Maintains Product Master database including hybrid information, quantities, and lots.Implements quality control processes.Monitors lot records to see that seed quality, purity, and seed classes are maintained.Oversees the maintenance of hybrid and variety information on characteristics and labeling. Responsible for communicatingchanges in Quality Status to Distribution Manager.Monitors Quality data to make sure GROWMARK standards, legal, and contract requirements are met.Assists with managing the warehouse operations and inventory control functions.Responsible for timely shipments of product to customers.Serves as the primary backup to the Distribution Manager.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Assists with picking product for pallets and loading trucks for seed shipment.Ensures compliance with seed testing standards along with GROWMARK accounting and fiscal policies.Maintains industry contacts to keep current on seed production, conditioning and quality control subjects.Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a college degree in agri-business or business or equivalent with at least 1 years of agronomy related experience to demonstrate the ability to provide seed quality assurance leadership, logistics management, and ability to manage supply chain systems.Prefer an understanding and experience with seed-related areas including seed production, procurement, distribution, quality control, conditioning, facility operations, inventory control, contracting, negotiations, accounting policies and procedures, compliance products, budgeting and communications. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record. Proven profession communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills. Demonstrated planning, organization, problem solving, and decision making skills. Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to carry a pager and/or cell phone and be available to receive after hours support calls as needed. Frequently required to lift between 51-70 pounds.Occasionally required to work at varying heights.Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
