Position Purpose:The Distribution Planner is responsible to develop the distribution and supply plan across the network to maximize group results while delivering the desired customer experience.? The role will provide functional expertise and direct to the commercial, operations, customer care and transportation team to support S&D imbalances for Rock salt across all horizons.? The Distribution Planner will be responsible for maintaining relationships with sub-contracting locations and/or stockpile locations and managing the initial setup of new sites through steady state.? The role will analyze the Supply Chain key performance indicators and assist in taking actions to close the gaps.Considered experienced professionals in the supply planning space with comprehensive and thorough knowledge to use under some oversight in conducting moderately complex activities. Responsible for coordinating multiple products or sites with medium impact on working capital, and all planning horizons. This includes: supply planning, process development, planning & execution, customer & client interaction / business partnership, systems/data management, reporting & analysis.? The Supply Planner role would likely be used when Inventory Planners are also part of the organization.Principle Accountabilities:50%?? SUPPLY PLANNING ??With some direction, maintains data relevant to supply planning activities including capacity, constraint, logistics, supplier, master and location data. ??With some oversight, create the requirements plan as input to the long term supply plan? for assigned products or locations, including demand plan and inventory inputs to determine net supply needs. ??Create the Long term Supply Plan with some oversight from manager for assigned products or locations ??With some oversight, review network capacity capabilities and trends with Master Production Planners??With some oversight, provide potential solutions for the business to review when available capacity does not meet requirements??Reviews capacity on a daily basis for assigned products or locations and develops plans to service customers through any shortages.? Collaborates and coordinates with all relevant stakeholders in the process using a substantial understanding of supply chain planning practices and procedures.25%?? EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT?? Act as owner of relationship for third party storage and handling vendors??Provide feedback and input to ensure excellent customer service through third party vendors??Assist in negotiation process for third party storage contracts as needed15%?? INTEGRATED BUSINESS PLANNING??With some support, provide Supply Plans for assigned products or locations into the CIBP Process??Uses thorough knowledge to assist in follow up action items from CIBP meetings as assigned with minimal assistance5%? Minimum Required Qualifications:??BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistic, or related Supply chain field.??3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Logistics or Transportation or related operations field. ??Strong collaboration and influencing skills??Excellent communication skills??Broad Perspective across an integrated Supply Chain?Preferred Qualifications:??1+ years of Supply Chain Planning experience??Experience in analyzing and improving integrated process results??Deep understanding of Transportation and Logistics across various modes such as truck, rail, boat, barge??APIC?s certification/Supply Chain certification??Experience managing planning and/or scheduling activities in an integrated ERP system (preferably SAP)?
