District Sales Manager – Diamond V, remote opportunity in Western U.S.
Position Purpose & Summary
The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for both strategic sales strategy and managerial responsibility within the Diamond V sub team.
Principal Accountabilities?40% of ResponsibilitiesDirectly coaching and mentoring the District sales personnel in assigned region using the Diamond V Sales Funnel Process for driving key account management plans, Time and territory management and revenue growth at the territory levelManaging internal and external technical resources to drive DV Sales Funnel processInsuring an effective, fully functioning and self directed sales team is in place for the assigned geographyHiring, Assessing and Development of personnel to build and maintain vital customer relationships and ensure market leadership on a sustained basis Accountable for overall District output through the Diamond V Sales Funnel?30% of Responsibilities?Works with the Director NA Ruminant Dairy Business to formulate business plans within assigned region: annual revenue projections and marketing budgetsWorks with the Director NA Ruminant Dairy Business to develop and implement field marketing programs tailored to specific customers and specific regional needsWorking with Directors or North American Ruminant to discuss strategic business initiatives important to continue revenue growthCollaborate with Directors of North American Ruminant to develop and implement key strategic initiatives within districtFacilitation, development and implementation of District Business Plans, Diamond V Sales Funnel Process, Marketing Programs, Distributor Relations? Responsible for working on key Strategic Accounts important to the future success of Diamond V and will include large multi-site dairies, allied industry, distribution channels, nutritionists and veterinarians in the area DSM currently resides or relocates toProvides input to the Diamond V product development effort?20% of Responsibilities?Works with Director NA Ruminant Dairy Business and Human Resources in recruitment and hiring of any new hiresWorks with New Hires to insure proper onboarding and training takes place by coordinating with HR and monitoring progress through an assigned mentorWorks to insure each direct report has a simple yet specific Personal/Professional Development Plan in place with assigned mentors to evaluate progressPerforms Annual Performance Reviews for Direct Reports and works with Director of NA Ruminant to insure employee success is achievedProvides insight and recommendations to Director NA Ruminant Dairy Business related to recognition and promotions Administers and implements performance improvement plans for direct reports when necessary??10% of Responsibilities?Works with and provides input to Diamond V technical service, research, quality control, manufacturing and others as necessary to ensure a market leading standard of product support, information and sales service is provided to customers throughout assigned regionOther duties as required fulfilling on the mission of creating a vibrant, growing, profitable business and a healthy, productive, positive environment for all to work in~50% of time spent traveling within the assigned geographyLocation: this is a remote opportunity that will be located in the Western U.S.
Required QualificationsMinimum of 10 years direct sales experience and/or 5+ years sales management experience in ruminant health and/or nutritionStrong verbal communication and sales presentation skills?Strong written communications skills as they would relate to business letters and memos, reports, plans, speech writing, PR releases, etc.?Ability to analyze a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up when appropriate?Ability to work effectively with the basic technical aspects of food animal nutrition and related bioscience and husbandryReasonable computer literacy as it applies to communications and sales services?Ability to work with and appropriately apply the disciplines of arithmetic and algebraAccounting principles and fundamental statistics in developing and maintaining sales data basis of all kindsReasonable computer literacy as it applies to sales force communications and automation using databaseProficient in Excel, Word and PPTMust have valid drivers? license and passport and be insurableTraveling extensively both by automobile and by air, with multiple nights out per week is part of this jobConsiderable physical stamina and mental toughness are requiredRequired to use laptop computer, video projector, cell phone and other electronic equipment as needed.Typical office work required, which involves sitting, walking and standing for extended periodsAble to comfortably exert 10-50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objectsApply for this job.
