Walter USA is a leading supplier of advanced turning, milling and hole-making tools to the metalworking industry for the automotive sector, aerospace industry, energy, rail transport and general mechanical engineering industries. As a fast-growing leader in our industry, we are seeking a proven, experienced sales leader for a District Sales Manager role for the Southern California region of the United States. This is a mid-level sales leadership position requiring proven experience in sales team management, team leadership, problem resolution, and channel partner and direct customer selling models. The “right” leader will oversee a field sales organization of 8-10 sales professionals in a competitive,fast-growing marketplace. This role requires building strategic plans for territory growth and development, leading, coaching and developing the sales team, and assuring sales growth in the distributor channel and key customer accounts. Industry related experience in the manufacturing, tooling and/or production environment is a plus! Key performance areas The District Sales Manager role requires a self-directed, results-oriented sales leader who will work independently, located in the California market area. Top Performers will possessstrong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to analyze, plan and manage at strategic levels. Success requires expertise in leading, coaching, and mentoring a sales team, driving sales performance and accountability and optimizing customer development, retention and account saturation. (50-70% travel required) 75% -Sales Leadership & Sales Account Optimization – Select, lead, and manage the sales team to assure sales growth through distribution channel and end user account development. Coach, train and support sales team through education, joint sales calls, solution development and problem resolution. Develop, support, and maintain business relationships with distributor and end user customers to optimize and escalate sales growth. 25% -District Management & Strategic Planning – Develop and track territory sales plans and goals. Collaborative development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and initiatives that align with overall revenue and business growth goals. Your profile The District Sales Manager must possess a minimum of 5 years of proven sales leadershipand industrial B2B sales experience in the MRO, manufacturing or distribution sales environment and experience working independently from a home office / virtual environment in a regional territory management role is critical.
