Economic Analysis, Manager
Objective of the position- The main objective of the
Manager of Economic Analysis is to lead economic thinking and analysis
related to capital allocation and value creation for shareholders. The scope
of analyses varies but includes gross capital expenditure tracking and
forecasting, performance review of past investments, valuation and financial
profiling of potential acquisition targets, performance and metrics of
Bunge’s business portfolio, etc. The analyses in scope are driven by the
projects in which the Corporate Development team is working on at the time
and are a priority for Senior Management and the Board of Directors of the
company. The Manager of Economic Analysis will also support individual
capital investment projects led by regional teams when those are of high
strategic importance or in need of support.
What we are looking for- To fulfill this objective,
we are looking for a team player that can work with, and complement the
knowledge of, other members of the Corporate Development team. Our team is
strong in strategy, project management, corporate finance, deal-structuring
and competitive intelligence. Hence, the new Manager of Economic Analysis needs
to bring expertise in accounting along with analytical knowhow.
The position is very
dynamic as targets and priorities shift regularly. Therefore, it requires
both the ability to execute long-term plans focused on milestones (e.g.,
Board and Executive Committee meetings) but also to react quickly to
opportunities that present themselves. With this in mind, we are looking for
an independent individual with a “can do” attitude who is comfortable working
in multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideally, the candidate
would hold an advanced degree, either in accounting, corporate finance, or
has equivalent work experience.
What we offer -With a total of six
members, our team is small and hierarchically flat. This allows the Manager
of Economic Analysis not only to lead and execute entire projects but also to
contribute to specific elements of projects in which all the team is
involved. We are also tightly connected to Business Development teams in the
regions and to Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis teams. We
constantly support both in capital investment projects they lead. To do that,
we deploy a service mindset; therefore, we get involved, time permitting, any
time we are asked for help. This help takes multiple forms, e.g., being
thought partners, reviewing project applications and financial models,
facilitating links with banks, consulting and research firms, or other parts
Another of our key roles is
to develop materials for Board strategy and performance sessions. This
provides access to Bunge’s top management and the Board itself.
Our flat hierarchy, tight
connections within Bunge, and access to top management provide constant
opportunities to learn, build relationships well beyond White Plains, and for
career development within and outside our group.
