Education Program Intern
Virginia Farm Bureau has an excellent opportunity available in our Agriculture in the Classroom Department (AITC) for an Education Program Intern. The intern will be responsible for administrative and educational programming duties that will facilitate the growth of the AITC education program. The selected candidate must be able to work one day a week.PRIMARY DUTIESPrepare workshop folders (general, preschool, specialty)Pack give away resource kits (general, preschool, specialty)Maintain up-to-date database entryCompile workshop evaluation summaries and create system to more adequately catalogue comments and testimonialsUpdate and stock education supplies and marketing materialsPrepare workshop teaching kits for facilitatorsPack/ship ag literacy materials and maintain appropriate records for the eventLabel new books and resourcesPrepare and ship AITC resources such as banners to county Farm BureausCreate new lessons and curriculum as needed ADDITIONAL DUTIESAttend and assist AITC workshops as needed as schedule allows. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONSHigh school degreeCollege degree or currently enrolled in college, preferably in a teacher education program MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONSAbility and willingness to lift at least 25 pounds.Strong computer skills including database entryHigh level of initiative and self-motivationEffective oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience working in education or with children.Apply for this job.
