Position Purpose & SummaryThis position is part of the Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate facility in Milwaukee, WI reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
This position is an integral part of the EHS team and provides support for the development, implementation and hands-on support of the EHS Management System. The Safety Coordinator performs tasks and completes projects to support continuous improvement for the prevention and reduction of workplace injuries and illness in order to achieve a proactive safety environment. The Safety Coordinator supports operations on the production floor and works with stakeholders to ensure they are involved in the EHS Management System.Principal Accountabilities40% Support facility leadership by providing coordination, and assist plant operations in EHS compliance by ensuring proper record keeping of requirements. Responsible for reporting obligations as required by local, state, federal and corporate requirements. Provide EHS technical assistance to the facility.?25% Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance tools at the facility for EHS compliance, and communicate and implement EHS requirements/regulations for the facility to support plant operations and the business unit. Development of a sustainable proactive EHS compliance culture at the location.?10% Assist and verify thorough pre-job planning for employees and contractors, including, but not limited to documented job safety analyses and procedures, pre-job hazard assessments (PJHA), planning, documenting, and gaining.?10% Train plant personnel on EHS subjects and perform internal assessments of EHS compliance systems.?10% Implement and champion existing programs (VBS, HOP, etc) and other EHS management systems and help support Cocoa and Chocolate North America (CCNA) employees' understanding of them.?5% Promote Cargill through involvement in community activities and professional organizations. On-call ability outside normal business hours to assist when needed and any other duties as assigned.? Skills:
Bachelor?s Degree in an Occupational/Environmental Health and Safety Discipline (Eg. Environmental Health and Safety, Kinesiology, Ergonomics, Occupational Health etc.)?
2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.?
Working knowledge of ergonomics and risk assessment associated with ergonomics principles ?
Previous experience implementing
EHS policies, programs and trainings? Strong communication skills (written and verbal) demonstrating the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization and with outside agencies.?
Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills?
Proficient in Microsoft Suite?
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with a team? Ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities, and learn in a changing work environment.?
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in the USPreferred Qualifications?
Understanding of Ergonomics, including quantitative and qualitative hazard assessment, and corrective action implementation. ?
Professional certifications such as Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Certified Industrial Hygienist. (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Safety Specialist (CSS) Associate safety professional (ASP)?
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and training.?
EHS Management Systems auditing experience?
Behavioral based safety program implementation? Emergency response management ? Experience with other software tools (MS Access, Enablon, Power BI)
