EHS Specialist – Milwaukee, WI
Position Purpose This position is part of the Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate facility in Milwaukee, WI reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.? This position is an integral part of the EHS team and provides support for the development, implementation and hands-on support of the EHS Management System. The Safety Coordinator performs tasks and completes projects to support continuous improvement for the prevention and reduction of workplace injuries and illness in order to achieve a proactive safety environment. The Safety Coordinator supports operations on the production floor and works with stakeholders to ensure they are involved in the EHS Management System.Principal Accountabilities25% – Identify, investigate, and correct non-compliances and unsafe conditions; report results and recommendations back to the key stakeholder25% – Ensure compliance with Cargill's EHS Management System15% – Track all safety projects in an organized manner, ensuring that project status updates are communicated and interventions are completed20% – Support other safety projects and initiatives, including training of employees15% – Collect, analyze, and summarize injury statistics and report informationSkills:
Bachelor?s Degree in an Occupational/Environmental Health and Safety Discipline (Eg. Environmental Health and Safety, Kinesiology, Ergonomics, Occupational Health etc.)
2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and implementation experience with safety and environmental regulations
Understanding of Ergonomics, including quantitative and qualitative hazard assessment, and corrective action implementation.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) demonstrating the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization and with outside agencies.
Experience with the development and delivery of required training.
Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with a team
Ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities, and learn in a changing work environment.Preferred
Experience with construction safety
