Electrical Distribution Maintenance Electrician
DescriptionCorteva Agriscience has an immediate opening in Midland, MI for experienced Electrical Distribution Maintenance (EDM) Electrician working on power distribution system equipment and electrical equipment in an industrial plant environment. This role is for a highly motivated person who exhibits leadership skills, displays flexibility in working with others, demonstrates proficiency in electronic tools, and embraces an ownership culture. The job is primarily performed on days, Monday through Thursday. Overtime (Hold-over, Pre-Scheduled and Call-in) is required as needed to perform the necessary repairs to keep our Plant Partners operating. Participation in the EDM On-call rotation is an expectation of this role. The schedule is a 40 hour work week, with additional hours being paid as overtime.
Perform electrical work on the site power distribution electrical equipment which includes voltages up to 138kV. This includes maintaining, preventative maintenance, repairs, testing and diagnostics of higher voltage power distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, battery systems, etc. Involved with clearing, switching, and grounding activities on electrical equipment. Read and understand wiring diagrams and control circuits for specific electrical equipment including substation drawings. Troubleshoot, diagnose and provide effective repairs to all the components of electrical equipment and distribution systems. Computer skills Develop or update existing procedures that efficiently, effectively and safely diagnose and repair Electrical equipment / systems. Mentor / train others in proper repair procedures and technology. Document repair history, initiate reliability improvements and resolve adverse equipment conditions. Provide Subject Matter Expert support to projects on site. Provide expertise in Root Cause Investigations. Actively lead or participate in team activities.
Must successfully complete on the job training and hands on proficiency skill test with all applicable equipment. QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Minimum 2 years experience working on high voltagemaintaining, maintenance, testing and troubleshoot experience with highervoltage power distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear,breakers, relays and battery systems (up to 15,000 volts) Can identify, prioritize and safely accomplish tasks whileworking independently to overcome daily obstacles Considers safety, quality and process compliance at alltimes Is committed to continuous learning and self-improvement Is a team player, problem solver, and is willing to step upto help the team succeedProficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word andExcel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will be required to obtain a license if theycurrently do not have one.Education:High school diploma or GED is required.Prefer a technical degree or associates degree.
